Registration

  • Registration for Session II on 10/14/2021 for current CDOEs for CE credit only
  • Registration for both Session I on 10/7/2021 and Session II on 10/14/2021 for current CDOEs for continuing education credit ONLY, not for CVDOE certification (no exam required)
  • Registration for Session I on 10/7/2021 for current CDOEs for continuing education credit ONLY
  • For CDOEs in good standing who would like to become CVDOE certified. Must attend both sessions and successfully pass certification exam.
  • Registration for both sessions for non-CDOEs for CE credit only

Session I: Thursday, October 7th | 8:00AM - 5:30PM

Session II: Thursday, October 14th | 8:00AM - 5:30PM

Held over the course of two full-day sessions, this continuing education program will cover the following topics:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Pathophysiology and Related Complications
  • Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests used in the Management of CVD
  • Pharmacotherapeutic Management of Hypertension
  • Pharmacotherapeutic Management of Hyperlipidemia
  • Pharmacotherapeutic Management of Heart Failure
  • Nutritional Management of Cardiovascular Disease and Self-care in Heart Failure
  • Helping Patients with Tobacco Cessation
  • Physical Activity: Rehabiliation and Benefits in Cardiovascular Disease

Nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists can earn up to 16.5 hours of live continuing education contact hours through completion of the course.

After completing both sessions of the course participants who are currently RI Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educators (CDOEs) in good standing will be eligible to sit for an exam to earn the credential of Cardiovascular Disease Outpatient Educator (CVDOE).  You must be a current CDOE in good standing and pass the exam to become a CVDOE.
